Weekly Training Log: 8/17-8/23

Hey guys! Sorry I am a day late on my weekly log. This weekend was super  busy that come Sunday evening I was just too exhausted to draft and finalize my post. Friday evening was the final run in the St. Pete Beach Summer 5K series (race recap to follow this week) and right afterwards I had to meet my best friend for a wedding errand. Saturday was an early wake-up call (though I woke up before my 7am alarm….) to head over to Orlando for Pretty Lil’ Mudder‘s (a.k.a Best Running Friend) birthday celebration at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal. Needless to say I didn’t get home till almost midnight. It was a fun-filled, but very exhausting couple of days.

This week is the last seven days of the Guna, Inc. squat challenge. It’s amazing how a 100 squats a day for 23 days (so far) has had an impact on my running. I ran my fastest 5K time, for summer running, this past week and it was a pretty great feeling.

Monday: Lower body and core strengthening, including 100 squats for day 17.

Tuesday: 5k run and 100 squats for day 18.

Wednesday: 100 squats for day 19 along with upper body and core strengthening

Thursday: 100 squats for day 20.

Friday: 100 squats in the morning and then the St. Pete Beach Summer Series 5K #3 in the evening.

Saturday: 100 squats and then walked 3+ miles around Universal Orlando for my best running friend’s birthday!

Sunday: 100 squats for day 23.

Do you have a running bestie? If so, what do you gals like to do outside of running?
