My Thoughts on this Thursday

Guess what?! It’s Friday Eve 🙂

I thought for today’s post I would just ramble on some thoughts currently on my mind. What better day to let the thoughts ramble than today for Thinking out Loud Thursday!

To kick things off, I am super excited that it’s May. I love May because it’s my birthday month but also this month I get to have my vacation. I am looking forward to just escaping reality for a bit and be carefree 🙂

About a week ago I won Pretty Lil’ Mudder’s ProCompression giveaway and my sleeves just came in the mail…well they were delivered on Tuesday but I didn’t check my mail till yesterday – yay for free running gear!

This weekend I am volunteering at the Rugged Maniac Florida event, in turn I am hoping to be able to participate in the event when I am not working it. I should be receiving my volunteer instructions via email today. Even if I can’t run the event before my shift, I know I still will have a good time volunteering and giving back….Thinking about volunteering at this event has got me thinking that I would like to volunteer at a running only event. I am always the participant and have never been on the other side. This is something I am going to look into.

Registration recently opened up for both the Gasparilla Distance Classic and Run for the Fallen. I wasn’t able to par-take in Gasparilla this year as it fell on the same weekend as the Disney Princess and sure enough it will fall on the same weekend next year. What I like about Gasparilla is is has a 15K option and I haven’t stumbled across too many of those so I would love to run next year and see if I can be my current time for the distance. PLUS registration is only $35 – uhmm, hello, that’s a no brainer! Run for the Fallen is a FREE Memorial Event to help us “Never Forget” the fallen. This event has a 1 mile Walk, 5K Run or 10K Run. Instead of bib numbers participants will wear and represent a Fallen Hero from Florida. I ran this event last year and was honored to have represented a Marine – Semper Fi!

My fallen hero was a Marine! Semper Fi!

What’s been on your mind? Register for any race lately? Have you ever volunteered at a race?

A special thanks to Amanda over at Running with Spoons for allowing me to “Think out Loud.”
