This past week has been a whirlwind, that I lacked in the fitness department. I haven’t quite kept you all up to date with things because of how crazy it’s been and I haven’t even finished my recap of the Rugged Maniac event to let you all know that I messed up my ankle on one of the obstacles at Rugged Maniac. Thankfully, it was the third to last obstacle and the damaged was nothing too serious, just a pretty bruised ankle. Unfortunately because my ankle was tender I couldn’t apply full on pressure on it for several days after the race and my arms were pretty sore from all the upper body lifting, I had to take a few extra days than I wanted to.
Then the day before running Rugged Maniac, I found out my grandfather had died. The soonest my mom and I could make it up to Milwaukee, WI was this weekend. Like always, I packed an outfit and wore my running shoes on the plane in hopes of enjoying a few miles when and where I could.
Monday: Rest day.
Tuesday: Rest day.
Wednesday: My muscles in my arms were feeling pretty good when I woke up that I went ahead and attempted a strength training workout focusing on core and upper body. My ankle needed one more day before I applied full weight on it for any cardio or lower body conditioning.
Saturday: 2 mile run. With temps in the 90s in Florida, I had to take advantage of the gorgeous 50 degree weather in the mornings in WI and log some miles prior to the service.
