I’ve been making great progress getting back into running and I realized this week that I don’t have any races currently lined up for the fall and I am officially registered for two in the winter. None of which are half marathons. This time last year I was registered for two halfs and the Glass Slipper Challenge. Currently I am registered for the Best Damn Race Safety Harbor 10K and the Gasparilla 15K. I would also like to run the St. Pete Beach Classic 10K in January but have not yet registered.
While researching online any race that I found interesting I’d have to travel for, and while I am not completely against that, I want it to be worth the travel. Not to mention having my support team travel with me to cheer me on. I’m a little upset that the Women’s Running has not resumed their series as one of their tours passed right through town. I’ve found a few other races around town that are smaller in recognition that I am considering. Who knows, maybe one of those will wind up being one of the best I’ve ever participated in! If anything else I can still register for the St. Pete Beach Classic and ran than run the 10K opt to run the half.
Do you have any suggestions for a good fall race, particularly in the Southeast?
